Studio Policies — Alami Voice Studio

📅 Attendance & Cancellations

• To respect everyone’s time and keep the studio running smoothly, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
• If a lesson is missed without proper notice (a “no-show”), it will be charged in full.
• Your lesson time is reserved just for you — arriving on time ensures you get the most out of it. Please remember, you’re booking the time slot, not a guaranteed number of minutes.
• Students are expected to attend regularly to support consistent progress.

🎒 What to Bring & How to Practice

• Bring a binder or folder to every lesson to keep music and handouts organized.
• I strongly recommend recording your lesson (using your phone or another device), so you can review and practice more effectively during the week.
Daily practice is essential. Just like any skill, your voice grows with consistent use. Even on busy days, a short, focused session is far more effective than cramming once or twice a week.
• We’ll set realistic, personalized practice goals together to help you grow at your own pace.

🧠 Staying Focused

• Voice work requires awareness of how your body and sound feel. I’ll stay focused on your lesson, and I ask you to do the same — please silence phones and avoid distractions unless it's urgent.
• Be curious, engaged, and ready to experiment — that’s how we grow!

🎯 My Commitment to You

Here’s what you can expect from me as your teacher:

  • A supportive, encouraging environment where you can explore and improve your voice

  • Clear, honest feedback and help setting achievable goals

  • A well-rounded approach that includes vocal technique, repertoire, musical interpretation, and ear training

  • Repertoire choices tailored to your goals — whether you love classical, musical theatre, pop, or something in between

🌱 Your Role as a Student

  • Practice daily — steady progress depends on consistency and intention

  • Use lesson recordings and notes to reinforce what we worked on

  • Come on time and ready to sing

  • Ask questions, take risks, and have fun — growth comes from curiosity and effort!

👨‍👩‍👧 For Parents of Younger Students

If your child is under 18, here’s how you can support their success:

  • Help your child stick to a daily practice routine

  • Provide a quiet practice space without distractions

  • Make sure they arrive on time and come prepared for lessons

  • Encourage and celebrate their growth — even small steps make a big difference!
